Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Derry is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Derry, County Sligo, Ireland. The slightly raised circular area measures 22m across and is enclosed by a 4.9m wide rubble limestone bank reaching 1.45m externally. A roughly wedge shaped annex joins the north-northeast side, using two independent limestone stretches and a scarped edge to define its boundaries. The original entrance remains unrecognisable on the slight northeast-facing slope.
Situated on a slight NE-facing slope in gently undulating pasture. Slightly raised circular area (diam. 22m) enclosed by a bank of rubble limestone (Wth 4.9m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.45m). No fosse visible. Original entrance not recognisable. An annex (SL005-045001-) is co-joined to the NNE side of the cashel. consisting of a roughly wedge shaped area (dims. 9m NW-SE; 5m NE-SW). The S side of the annex (dims. 13m NW-SE; 5m NE-SW) is defined by the bank of the cashel while it two independent stretches of rubble limestone bank (Wth 1.7m; H 0.3m), that link to the external face of the cashel bank at NW and at NE, enclose the E and W sides. The N side is defined by an earth and stone scarped edge (ext. H 0.6m). The W two-thirds of the annex are raised and level. The original entrance is not recognisable.
