Embanked enlcosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Derrane, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies an oval grass-covered area on a gentle north-facing slope, bounded by an earthen bank and an outer rounded fosse. A slight outer bank survives along the west and northwest, while another rath sits about two hundred metres to the south-southeast.
On a gentle N-facing slope. Oval grass-covered area (dims 48.6m E-W; 37.7m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.6-6.3m; int. H 0.1-0.5m; ext. H 0.4-1.4m) which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.55m) NW-ENE. There is an outer rounded fosse (Wth of top 4.8-6.6m; Wth of base 1.7-2m; D 0.2-0.5m) which is visible S-N-ENE, and a slight outer bank (Wth 3.7m; ext. H 0.1-0.25m) which survives WNW-NNW (max. ext. diam. 52.6m N-S). There is no identifiable original entrance. Rath (RO036-077----) is c. 200m to the SSE.
