Inscribed stone in Danesfort

Inscribed stone

What is recorded here

Inscribed stone in Danesfort is an inscribed stone in Danesfort, County Roscommon, Ireland. The digits 1640 are incised across two stones of the doorway surround in the north wall of a disused 18th or 19th century cornmill. The numbers were probably carved in situ, although they were unlikely to have been intended as a date.
