Cuilleendaeagh is a quiet Galway field holding a monumental structure beside a holy well, but the stone head set into its top has vanished since 2010. Local memory ties the structure to Edmund Mullen and an 1806 slab, yet the medieval-looking head may have belonged to an older church entirely. Someone moved it, hid it or destroyed it after being seen, depriving the place of the very feature that made it strange.

Associated with a monumental structure (GA125-005004-), which lies in the SW sector of a burial ground (GA125-050001-) and immediately to the E of a holy well (GA125-050002-). On inspection in August 1985, this stone head, which appeared to be of medieval date and a decorative feature associated with a church, was set into the top of the monumental structure, which, according to local information, was the 'tomb' of Edmund Mullen, who built it during the course of his lifetime. A decorated and inscribed slab dedicated to Edmund, dated 1806, noted in the burial ground may originally have been incorporated into it. On re-inspection in March 2010, the stone head had been removed from the structure and it could not be located in the burial ground. Its current location is unknown.
