Hachured is a vanished fairy fort on the outskirts of Croom, its earthen ring swallowed by domestic houses along Church Road. It stood beside a ditch-barrow and another ringfort, marking a crowded landscape of ancient boundaries before modern development erased its shape. The fort likely served as a local landmark or ritual site, but its exact purpose has faded with the soil itself.

On former flat pasture now developed for domestic housing built along Church Road (R516) on the outskirts of Croom, 390m E of the townland boundary with Carrigeen. Located 30m WSW of a ditch-barrow (LI030-022----) and 125m SSW from a ringfort (LI030-023----). The site is depicted as an embanked fort on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map and is also depicted as an enclosure (ext. dims. c. 37.5m N-S; 42.5m E-W) surrounded by a fosse on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. Two domestic houses have been built on the site of the monument that are visible on the OSi orthoimage taken 2005-12 and on Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. Inspected by OPW in 1957, the ringfort consisted of a level circular raised area (int. diam. c. 41m) defined by an external fosse (Wth 4.5m; D int. 1.5m; ext. c. 0.3m) (SMR File). The domestic houses built on the site are visible on the Google Earth orthoimages taken 05/02/2009 and 28/06/2018.
