Westropp (1906-7, 168) recorded the following details about Pollagh Castle; '1657 "C[astle]. on Polagh" (D.S.A., 42). No other mention, a doubtful site'. Tower house like castle standing on a rise of ground is depicted on the 17th century Down Survey map of Coshma Barony (Hib. Reg.).
