Pit-burial in Crobally Upper (decies-Within-Drum By.) is a pit-burial in Crobally Upper (decies-Within-Drum By.), County Waterford, Ireland. The site is on raised ground, sloping to the south, under grass, with good views of Tramore Bay, which lies about 1.2 kilometres to the south. Geophysical survey and archaeological testing identified two burial pits, 0.4 metres and 0.35 metres across, containing charcoal-rich fills with small flecks of cremated bone. An enclosure lies about 40 metres to the south-south-east, and other pits containing burnt bone were uncovered about 90 metres to the south-west.
On raised ground, sloping to the S, under grass. There are good views of Tramore Bay which lies c. 1.2km to the S. Features were identified during geophysical survey (Licence no. 20R0045) and confirmed by archaeological testing (Licence no. 20E0596) in advance of a proposed development (Coyne 2020, unpublished). One of two burial pits (WA026-095----; WA026-096----) found together (diam. 0.4m and 0.35m) which contained charcoal rich fills with small flecks of cremated bone (ibid. 16). An enclosure (WA026-094---) lies c. 40m to the SSE and other pits (WA026-083----) containing burnt bone where uncovered in archaeological excavations c. 90m to the SW.
