One hundred acres of rectangular fields stood in Crickstown until 1984, their banks catching light in 1970s photographs before ploughs erased them. The loss is not vague; it is dated, measured, and visible in the before-and-after images. What disappeared was not imagination but lived land, shaped by hands that worked beneath an open sky.

Situated on a fairly level landscape. Aerial photographs from the 1970s (GSIAP: O 23, 24) show upstanding relict field banks covering about 100 acres (c. 36 ha). The fields are fairly large and rectangular (dims c. 100m x c. 50-70m) and aligned NNE-SSW with the local trend of field banks, or perpendicular to it, but they had been reclaimed by 1984. They were probably part of an unmapped post-medieval field system. No house sites or plots can be identified in the available aerial images.
