Crane Island is a subrectangular crannog in Lough Ramor, County Cavan, sitting thirty-seven metres from the shore with a central mound rising three metres above the water. Davies surveyed its rock-strewn beach in 1940, capturing a place where human hands shaped the lake itself. The distance from land is close enough to touch yet far enough to demand intention, suggesting whoever built this mound wanted proximity but not ease of access.

Davies (ITA Survey 1940) described the island perimeter as a rock-strewn beach with the central mound rising about 3m above the water-level of the lake.
