Carrowkilleen holds two ancient courts, but this is the eastern one. The second court tomb stands nearby at MA038-001----. Together they mark the area as a place where people laid others to rest long before written records. The stones still hold that old purpose, even if the names of the buried have been lost.

Court tomb, dating to the Neolithic period (c. 3500–2500 BCE). These tombs are significant as some of the earliest known ceremonial and burial structures in Ireland, reflecting early communal organisation and ritual practices.
