What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Cavan, Ireland, where two low earthen banks still surround a raised circular area about thirty-two metres across. The original entrance has vanished, the outer bank may be young, and the inner bank now wears drystone facing, but the narrow fosse between them remains visible. The site has been reused as a tree-ring, so human hands and fairy hands may have shaped the same soil.

Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 32m) enclosed by two low earthen banks with a narrow intervening fosse. Outer bank is probably relatively modern. Inner bank has been faced with drystone walling in recent times. Original entrance not recognisable. Site has been reused as a tree-ring.
