What is recorded here

Indicated is a subcircular crannog island in Lough Gowna, County Cavan, Ireland, about 20m across and 125m from the shoreline. It holds a crannog-cairn of medium-sized stones about 10m across, the kind of place where people may have stood at the water’s edge, marking time, keeping watch or leaving a gift for the lake. The stones still fit together like a sentence spoken slowly, while the water keeps the rest of the story to itself.

Subcircular island (diam. c. 20m) in Lough Gowna, c. 125m from the shoreline. Davies (ITA Survey 1941, 17) recorded a crannóg-cairn on the island composed of medium-sized stones (diam. c.10m).
