Lisnamucka is a circular earthen fort on a low Mayo ridge, its stone-faced scarp rising beside damp pasture that slopes toward Cloonturnaun Lough. Local tradition claims an underground passage inside, but blackthorn and bramble still block the interior, leaving only the buried shape and excluded entry to imagine.

In pasture, located on a low ridge. Ground falls away to S to an area of wet ground which extends SE for 200m to the shores of Cloonturnaun Lough. Ground also falls to N to lowlying damp pasture. A modern farmstead lies immediately to W−NW. This rath, named ‘Lisnamucka’ on the 1838 and 1917 OS 6-inch maps, consists of a circular platform (diam. c. 25m) defined by a scarp (H 1.2m at NE, 1.5m at W). The scarp is faced externally with stone and topped with a low stony rim at ENE–NW where it is incorporated into a later property fence. A farm lane (Wth 3.5m) skirts the SW arc. According to local tradition there is a Man-made underground passage (MA092-042001-) in the rath interior. The interior is engulfed in blackthorn and brambles, which impeded inspection; the perimeter is thickly ringed with hawthorn, blackthorn and brambles.
