What is recorded here

Indicated is a ruined fairy fort in County Mayo, Ireland. It is a circular earthen ring now broken by fences and pasture. The clay bank still stands eighty centimetres high on a southwest slope. A dark hole in the ground at the bottom edge may be a collapsed passage. People may have lived there, feared the fairies, or simply forgotten the name. The shape remains because the land remembered the hands that built it.

In pasture, on a SW-facing slope. Roughly circular-shaped area (diam. 34m N-S), enclosed by heavily overgrown earthen bank (H 0.8m), levelled; N to S. Field fence and road skirt E half of the site. Field fence bisects site's interior E to W. Possible collapsed Man-made underground passage (MA100-115001-) in SW. The above description has been derived from D.
