What is recorded here

Indicated is a vanished rath in County Mayo, Ireland. It stood on a north-facing rise above southern forestry, large enough to circle in thirty metres, before human hands removed its northern half and finally erased the rest. The land keeps no visible mark, yet it remembers the shape of what was taken.

In pasture, located on a rise on a N-facing slope. The land immediately to S is planted with forestry. This possible rath is shown on the 1837 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 30m); by the time of the 1919 edition the N half of the enclosure had been removed and it is depicted as a hachured semi-circular area (diam. c. 25m NE−SW), curving from E−WSW.
