What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Cloonchambers, County Roscommon, Ireland. It appeared as a circular enclosure twenty metres across on the 1837 Ordnance Survey map and occupied the crest of the western end of a low ridge. Large stones about eighty centimetres wide and sixty centimetres high still form a twenty-two metre arc beneath a drystone wall.
Marked as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated at the crest of the W end of a low WNW-ESE ridge. An arc (C 22m) of large stones (dims c. 0.8m x c. 0.8m; H c. 0.6m) survives SW-N beneath a drystone wall. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
