What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular earthen ringfort in West Cork pasture, forty metres across with a stone-faced bank and southern entrance. It sits on a west-facing slope break, preserving a saucer-shaped interior and concentric inner undulation. The shape suggests human occupation, exclusion and ritual rather than random earthwork.

In pasture, on break in W-facing slope. Circular, slightly raised area (42.5m N-S; 41.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.45m), stone faced in parts; with external fosse (D 0.45m) NE->S. Entrance (Wth 4m) to S. Interior saucer-shaped; undulation 1m inside and concentric with bank. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
