Stone circle in Cill Éinne

Stone circle

What is recorded here

Richard Long built the stone circle in Cill Éinne during 1975, placing rocks on exposed limestone near the island’s southeast tip. The sea and wind have since worn the work, blurring the line between human intention and natural forgetting.
Near the SE tip of the island on exposed limestone rock. According to Robinson (1980), this is a modern stone circle that was built by the land artist Richard Long in 1975. It has since been partly damaged by the elements (pers. comm. T. Robinson). Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 5 February 2020
