Castle, ringwork in Moanmore (solloghodmore Par.) stands as a water-logged circular earthwork in flat Tipperary marsh, its broad fosse and low banks still shaping the land beneath conifers. The western half has surrendered to blackthorn while the eastern gap may have admitted cattle rather than knights, suggesting the ring served ordinary life before becoming a forgotten marker. Three shallow forestry tranches cut through the outer scarp, reminding that even neglected heritage must yield when people need to pass.

In a clearing in forestry, coniferous planting comes within 8-10m of the outer bank/counterscarp. In flat marshy terrain. A raised circular area (diam. 24m N-S) enclosed by a bank (Wth at crest 2m; overall Wth 6.2m; H above int. 0.45m; H above fosse 1.4m); broad, flat-bottomed, water-logged fosse (Wth 5.7m; D 1.05m) and broad, low outer bank (Wth at crest 4m; overall Wth 6m; H above ext. 0.15m) which appears to be reduced to scarp, though the grass and rush growth make it difficult to discern. The W half of the monument is heavily overgrown the blackthorn scrub which is encroaching on the E half of the monument. There is a possible entrance (Wth 1.9m) in the E quadrant, though this may be an old cattle gap. There is no corresponding causeway over the fosse.
