Tomb is a tomb (effigial (present location)) in Cashel, green, County Tipperary, Ireland. It is set into a limestone niche at the south end of the southeast boundary wall of the Cathedral of St John the Baptist and St Patrick's Rock graveyard, which is also a length of the town wall. The effigy appears to be that of a Hackett lady because an inscription along the top of the sinister side reads IO…HACK…ETT IL…ALI. Hunt dated this tomb to the late 13th or early 14th century and linked it to the Hackett Chapel of the nearby Franciscan Friary, where Wadding recorded many tombs of founders and other families.
Set into a limestone niche at the S end of the SE boundary wall of the Cathedral of St John the Baptist and St Patrick's Rock graveyard (TS061-025035-) which is also a length of the town wall (TS061-025023-). This effigy appears to be that of a Hackett lady as there is an inscription along the top of the sinister side which reads: IO…HACK…ETT IL…ALI (Hunt 1974, vol. 1, 223). The effigy is described in detail by Hunt (1974, vol. 1, 223; vol. 2, fig. 27) who has dated this tomb to the late 13th/early 14th century. As with the nearby effigial tomb (TS061-025078-) of a Hackett knight, this tomb probably come from the 'Hackett Chapel' of the nearby Franciscan Friary (TS061-025008-). Of the Hackett chapel, Wadding (1734, 47) states that 'Many tombs of the founders and other families were then to be seen' (Hunt 1974, vol. 1, 224-5).
