Indicated

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Limerick, Ireland. Its scarped edge and flat-topped counterscarp still break the pasture, though much of the ring disappeared around 1980. The surviving earth marks a boundary the land never fully forgot.
In pasture. Roughly circular area (33.8m E-W; 29.3m NW-SE) defined N->ESE and SW->WNW by scarped edge (H 1.35m; Wth 4.5m) with external fosse (D 0.35m) and counterscarp bank (int. H 1m; ext. H 1m); otherwise enclosing element levelled c. 1980, according to local information. Counterscarp bank is flat-topped (Wth c. 3m) on E side. Level interior under pasture.
