What is recorded here

Carnowen is a quiet townland in County Donegal where a standing stone once rose from good land sloping gently south-west. The stone has vanished without a visible trace, leaving behind only the memory of its shape and the purpose it may have served. People likely passed it, marked it, or avoided it depending on the season and the stories they carried. Its absence does not erase it, because the land still remembers the weight and presence of what stood there.

There is no trace of the 'Standing Stone' marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on good land rising gently to the SW.
