Carnowen is excellent farmland with extensive views, but the standing stone is missing from the first edition OS map and may have vanished before surveyors arrived. The absence is not a small error; it is a hole in the local record where a marker should stand. The land may have swallowed the stone, people may have moved it, or the name may have pointed to a lost boundary. In either case, Carnowen keeps the shape of what is no longer visible.

There is no trace of the 'Standing Stone' marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map. Situated in excellent farmland with extensive views.
