Carn Uí Néid, meaning the cairn of Néid's grandson, still stands at Mizen Head, the southern edge of Ireland where the sea crashes against ancient rock. Legend says Lugh chased Balor there, cut off his head, and set it on a stone that shattered under the weight of divine fury. The story turns a ordinary cliff into a wound in the world, marked by a cairn and remembered in the name of the place.

In pasture, on NW-facing slope. Circular cairn of stones (9.5m N-S; 8.7m E-W; H 0.8m). Centre depressed; highest on E side where field clearance stones are thrown.
