Structure

Three closely set pieces of brushwood (Wth 0.15m; D 0.07m). The brushwood (diam. 0.032-0.041m) are of ash. A single piece of brushwood was noted in the opposing drain face and may be part of this site. The wood sits in well-humified Sphagnum peat with ericaceous remains and some Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
