Fairy forts are not fairy made. They are human made, and the name is a later invention. In Camas, a circular earthwork stands in dry pasture, its scarped edge and outer ditch still visible after centuries of grass and scrub. People built it, lived near it or avoided it, then forgot the reason. The fairies entered later, filling the gap where memory failed.
In level dry pasture. Circular area (diam. 28m) defined by a scarped edge (H 1m; Wth 3.6m) with an external fosse (Wth 4m; D 0.35m). Fosse partially covered by overgrowth. Interior level and under grass but with some scrub overgrowth.
