What is recorded here
Half a metre of earth and two metres of forgotten ditch enclose a level chamber in Camas pasture. The bank stands eighty centimetres outside but only forty inside, a shallow cup rather than a fortress wall. Grass and bramble have claimed the centre, softening the edge until the circle becomes a suggestion instead of a boundary. What was built there has stopped being obvious, yet the measurement remains exact in the land itself.
In level pasture. Circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.8m) with external fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.2m); according to local information fosse recently infilled to present depth. Interior level and partially covered by dense overgrowth.
