Half a metre tall on Piperstown Hill, Site D is a small oval cairn from the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age. It lies among a wider settlement and burial ground, its stones aligned east to west without a kerb. People may have gathered there to mark the dead, watch the sky, or simply shape the hill into a place they could return to.

Situated on the S slopes of Piperstown Hill. A cairn known as Site D. ‘Site D: A small oval cairn of stones. It measures about 2-50 m. by 1-75 m., with its long axis orientated E-W, and is about 20 cm. in maximum height. No evidence of a kerb’ (Rynne and Ó hEailidhe 1965, 64).
