Burnt mound in Longgraigue

Located towards the head of a slight SW-NE valley. This is a circular area of burnt stone (diam. 5m) visible when the area is ploughed. An old stream bed is adjacent. Burnt mound (WX040- 070002-) lies c. 100m to the SSW and burnt mound (WX040-070004-) is c. 80m to the NE. Burnt mound, likely dating to the Bronze Age (c. 2500–500 BC). These features are commonly associated with ritual or industrial activities, such as heat-treated stone use in cooking, hide processing, or ceremonial practices.
