This is the record for the burnt mound excavated by Goorik Dehaene (A0E3262) on the N11 road improvement scheme. The site measured 20m by 20m and comprised the remnants of a heavily disturbed and truncated burnt spread. (Dehaene 2009y) Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 17 January 2013
Burnt mound, Late Bronze Age. The site indicates domestic or ritual activity involving heat, typical of fulacht fiadh, and reflects widespread prehistoric settlement patterns in the region.
