In May 1980 human remains were discovered during road-widening operations by Galway County Council at Tiranascragh townland, Ballycrissane, Co. Galway. The remains, an articulated extended skeleton, were discovered at a depth of c. 0.45m below ground level. No artefacts or grave structures were discovered. The site was not investigated by the NMI, and the remains were not acquired (pers comm. M. Sikora and M. Cahill, NMI).
