What is recorded here
Kilculleen is a hidden burial ground in County Limerick, recorded by Westropp in 1904-5 but never precisely located. The name alone preserves a place where people may have laid others to rest, marked roads, gathered stones or spoken prayers beside dead kin. Its absence from modern sight does not remove it from the world; it withdraws the place from easy judgement and returns it to memory.
The precise location of a "kyle" or burial ground listed by Westropp (1904-5, 441) has not been identified.
