Hut site in Boolies (fore By.)

Hut site

What is recorded here

No visible entrance remains on the western slope, yet the circular earthwork still touches the larger rath like a forgotten bedroom. A person may have knelt there to listen for water, watch the sky, or tend a small flame before withdrawing into the dark. The grass has smoothed every angle, but the shape preserves the intention of a life lived at the edge of a fortress rather than inside it.
Situated on a W-facing slope outside the outer bank of rath (ME009-021----) at NW. It is a circular grass-covered area (int. diam. 3.3m) defined by a grass-covered earthen bank (Wth of base 3-3.6m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.5m). It is attached to the outer bank of the rath at E, and an entrance is not identified. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 31 October 2018
