Mortuary temples and sacred groves were known as Killeens. That is why this field in Boheragaddy still carries the name. Three adults, two women and one man, lay buried there before modern building began. They may have been temple keepers, groove guardians or simply neighbours of a small shrine now lost. The road passes within moments of the place where their bones waited to be remembered.

In fairly flat terrain close to a road. The remains of at least three burials were discovered in 1980 during the digging of house foundations. The burials consisted of the bones of two females and one male, all adult. There were no structural remains. The field in which the burials were found was known locally as ‘Killeen’.
