Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Bohard

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Bohard holds a twenty-metre earthen ring on a gentle slope overlooking the river valley. The bank still stands barely a metre high beside a shallow fosse, though dense overgrowth now strangles the grassy field. People may have lived inside this small circle before the trees reclaimed it, watching water move through the valley below. The fairies kept the fort only after humans stopped using it.
In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope overlooking river valley. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, is now covered by dense overgrowth. However, as far as could be ascertained it is enclosed by an earthen bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.8m) with an external fosse (D 0.1m; Wth 1.8m).
