What is recorded here

Six sandstone cross-slabs are buried in the inner graveyard wall near the southwest entrance at Not inidcated. They emerged during the 1960s and 1970s, joining one recorded earlier by Crawford. The largest measures 0.78 by 0.48 metres, its ringed cross reduced to faint double lines and barely visible T-shaped ends. The wall has kept these markers hidden until people began digging, suggesting the graveyard once contained far more than it now shows.

A cross-slab with a ringed cross has been recorded by Crawford (1913, 328, No. 4) and further cross-slabs came to light in the 1960s and 1970s (Moore and Kenny 1975, 35). At the moment there are six sandstone cross-slabs incorporated into the inner face of the graveyard wall close to the entrance at SW. This stone (dims 0.78m x 0.48m) has the faint outline of a ringed cross with T-shaped terminals created by double incised lines, but only the terminals are barely visible. See the attached image.
