Boardee holds one leftover stone from a pair that marked a field edge. Men broke its companion during reclamation and dumped the survivor beside the road, reducing ancient witness to roadside debris. The surviving stone still stands three metres tall, not because anyone chose to keep it, but because destruction stopped before finishing.

According to local information, two upright stones formed part of a field boundary. During land reclamation, one stone (CO099-099----) was broken up; the second stone (CO099-109----) (3.1mx 1m x 0.9m) was dumped next to the roadside field boundary. (pers. comm. S. O'Mahony).
