Mortons in the north and for the most part the middle distance is the largest part of the world. The main road runs past the field and the field has no fence. A thin white line marks the edge of the field and the line is still visible after rain.

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Sub-circular area (int. dims. 37m N-S, 32m E-W) enclosed by degraded earthen bank with possible entrance gap (Wth 2.3m) on S. No visible fosse. The ringfort is situated within a larger enclosure, which has a wall of stone and earth suggesting that it is later and probably modern in date.
