Gateway, c.1830, comprising pair of diagonally-set cut-stone panelled piers having chamfered corners, stringcourses, profiled capping having segmental panels, decorative wrought iron double gates with finials having twisted detailing, decorative wrought iron flanking pedestrian gates, cut-stone outer piers, sections of unpainted flanking boundary walls having cut-stone coping, and pair of cut-stone terminating piers having base batter, and cut-stone coping. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Belleville Park.
A well-composed gateway incorporating fine stone work to the piers together with decorative wrought iron gates, which enhance the artistic design quality of the composition. The gateway, together with the attendant gate lodge (22902106/WD-21-06), forms a neat group that enhances the visual appeal of the area.
