Gallán is a rectangular standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, rising less than a metre above tillage on a north-west-facing slope. Local information claims mass was once said at the stone, turning a ordinary field marker into a temporary chapel under open sky. The claim is not certain, but it fits the shape of the place: a small stone, exposed on a slope, suitable for a few people to gather around when faith needed a visible centre.
