In wet pasture, 85m NE of the Morningstar River that marks the townland boundary with Knockaunavlyman. Barrow (LI049-236002--) lies 15m to the E and barrow (LI049-236003-) 25m to SE. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Possible barrow listed as ‘Newtown 4’ by Grogan (1989, 244). Faint outline visible on OSi orthoimage taken between 2005-12. No surface remains visible on Google Earth orthoimages.

A ditch barrow, likely dating to the Early Bronze Age, associated with burial practices of the period; its location near other barrows suggests a local funerary landscape.
