The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Large steep-sided mound with rounded summit (H 3m; base diam. c. 23m). Summit disturbed and overgrown but appears to be relatively small. Traces of fosse and possible levelled bank enclose mound.
A Neolithic ditch barrow; significant as a rare survival of an early funerary monument type in the region.
