What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, Ireland, occupying a slightly raised circular area thirty-two metres north-south and twenty-nine metres east-west. Its southern edge remains clear with a steep scarp and shallow fosse, while the northern half has been levelled until only a faint rise hints at the lost boundary. The fort sits on an open rise with unbroken views in every direction, surrounded by pasture and nearby raths, suggesting a place where human ambition or fairy counsel still competes for attention.
In undulating pasture, straddling a rise with very good views in all directions. Slightly raised, roughly circular area (32m N–S; 29m E–W) defined by a scarp with an external fosse. The rath is crossed to S of centre by a field fence/townland boundary on an E–W axis. To S of the fence, the scarp (Wth slope 2.7m; H 1.7m, at S) is well defined and the fosse (Wth 1.8m; ext. D 0.4m) is evident as a shallow depression. To N of the fence, the rath has been levelled; its outline can be traced only as a slight rise with a hint of a depression indicating the infilled fosse. Grass cover; gorse on scarp at S. There are raths (MA092-060001-; MA092-061----; MA102-002----) 210m to NW 180m to N, 240m to S respectively.
