Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Barnacullen, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a low-lying position in an undulating landscape and presents a D-shaped grass-covered area. A straight original side faces west, while a narrow entrance and wider causeway appear at the southeast. An earthen bank, fosse and outer bank define the perimeter, although the outer bank has joined a field boundary along the northeast, south and southwest.
In a low-lying position in an undulating landscape. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 56.3m WNW-ESE; 47.2m NNE-SSW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.5-4.9m; int. H 0.5-0.9m; ext. H 1.2-1.6m) separated by a fosse (Wth of top 5-6m; Wth of base 1.5-2.7m; ext. D 0.8-1.6m) from an outer bank (Wth 2-4m; ext. H 0.2-0.6m). The straight side, which is original, is at W and the entrance (Wth 1.9m) and causeway (Wth 4.7m) are at SE, but the outer bank had been incorporated into a field bank NE-S-SW (max. ext. diam. 71.6m WNW-ESE).
