Mound in Ballyroddy

Half a metre high and barely five metres across, the mound sits at the heart of a rath on a gentle south-facing slope in Ballyroddy. It is small enough to walk around in a minute yet old enough to have watched every field change around it. A person may have stood there at sunrise, marked a boundary or simply remembered someone the land had swallowed. The grass still covers its shape, keeping the memory warm beneath its feet.
