ENCLOSURE is a boundary drawn around shared life, reducing openness to ownership and memory to transaction. In County Down, that act still echoes through land, law and longing. The tragedy is not loss of space but loss of witness: when enclosure completes, nobody remembers what the land gave before the line was drawn.
