What is recorded here
Ballyea once held a twenty-metre earthen ring on a north-facing slope, visible on an 1841 survey but now erased from the pasture. The land swallowed the boundary, leaving no ridge or ditch for hands to find. A similar circle remains thirty metres west, waiting while the first forgot its own shape.
In pasture, on break in N-facing hill slope. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1841 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. No trace of monument evident when inspected. Similar enclosure lies 30m to W (LI029-100---).
