Enclosure in Ballyda was a roughly oval fort, twenty metres across, on a north-facing slope in County Cork. Ploughmen levelled it within living memory, erasing the very ground where people once stood against the rain. The soil forgot the shape of human defiance, but the slope still holds the ghost of a boundary drawn in stone.

In tillage, on N-facing slope. Shown as roughly oval enclosure (diam. c. 20m E-W; c. 10m N-S) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; no visible surface trace. According to Power (1923, 169) 'Two "forts" ...have been levelled within living memory'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
