Indicated, Ballyconor Big is a walled bawn in County Wexford where a tower house and sixteenth-century building still face across a rectangular yard toward chapel ruins and a low western wall. The blocked embrasure in that wall suggests people once watched the nearby stream or kept something out of the yard. They may have lived there with dogs, children and fear of neighbours, turning stone into a small stage for ordinary danger.

This is located on a level landscape with a small N-S stream c. 90m to the W. The tower house (WX048-033001-) and 16th century house (WX048-033002-) form the E side of a rectangular area (int. dims 34m E-W; 24m N-S) defined by the chapel (WX048-033002-) and outhouses at N and the remains of a wall (H 1m) that has a blocked embrasure at W.
