Man-made underground passage in Ballybeg West

In pasture, at the base of a SSE-facing slope and adjacent to a large limestone quarry. This Man-made underground passage was discovered in 2000. A collapsed opening (L 2m) revealed a single stone-built chamber (2.75m N-S; 1.3m E-W; H 1.14m). The walls are of random rubble and are corbelled. The N half of the chamber is filled with earth and stones from the collapse. One cracked lintel remains in situ at the S end of the chamber.
